If
you ever wondered how the Ford Mustang became such a huge american icon
or why it is one of the most sought after classics of all time, take a
few minutes and check out Ron and Diane's 65 stang.
With
perfectly clean lines and all around good looks, this beauty can't help
but turn heads and charm crowds where ever she goes. From what started
as a rebuild of Diane's first car, a 65 coupe she bought from her brother
in 1977, its hard to imagine how this cherry 65 convertible would be the
end result. As remarkable as this sounds, that is exactly what happened.
After
rebuilding the engine and suspension, the coupe was diagnosed with severe
body rust and the search for a healthy body donar began. Thanks to Don
Chambers and his wife from Mustang Country, the perfectly straight 65
convertible you see here was located. With it being a six cylinder, Diane's
coupe with a freshly rebuilt V8, made the ideal donar car.
With
two mustangs in hand, Diane and Ron turned to Precision Firestone and Crook
Brothers to perform the mechanical swap and assembly, while their friends
at Mustang Country supplied a new top, upholstery and much needed support
and assistance to assemble the following list of toys to complete their
project:

In
ten short months and lots of hard work, their stang was finally reborn and
ready to drive. Thanks to the fine workmanship of all involved, Diane and
Ron were finally proud owners of an absolutely pristine 1965 classic mustang
convertible. With all the hard work behind them, it's been nothing but fun
and enjoyment ever since,.... and we can certainly see why!.
