There’s nothing like the crucible of competition to fine tune fine machinery.

According to Jalopnik, in order to create a properly grueling development testbed Ford convinced the Best In The Desert (BITD) racing series to make a “full-size truck factory stock class” (Class 1200) to run the Raptor competitively.

They’re using this season as learning experience, sussing out issues with the truck. Supposedly Ford already tweaked the suspension tune based on what they’ve learned and changed the layout of the engine wiring based on an electrical failure they experienced at the season opening Parker 425.
