Mustang Looking Things Race Their Little Hearts Out in Australia

About half the size of the real thing, these pint-sized race cars are just as ballsy…

Simply called Aussie Racing Cars, the silhouette series uses a production looking body draped over spec tube-frame chassis that house second-hand engines ripped form used Yamaha FJ1300 motorcycles, a sequential gearbox and a fully and a fully adjustable racing suspension.

Various body styles are permitted including a 1940 Ford Coupé, Falcon, Holden FJ, Commodore and Cruze, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Elantra, and the fan favorites, both the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro.

Funny as they look, the little cars make for some entertaining racing like this supreme example from two Mustang-bodied caricatures during the seriously soaked Tasmania Supercars Supersprint in Symmons Plains, Australia.
