In the same vein as the Performance Packs offered on the North American side of the big puddle, Australian customers can now ramp up their Mustang’s performance threshold with officially sanctioned upgrades.
The first improvement on tap is a 2.5-inch stainless steel cat-back exhaust for the Mustang GT available with 4-uinch tailpipes finished in either black or chrome. The $3584 upgrade will spit out a more prominent V8 burble as owners have been complaining the current car is too quiet.
For coupe models only, Ford Performance will offer a $4130 Track Handling Pack which brings a set of lowering coilovers, new front struts and strut mounts, plus new rear shocks, sway bars, rear toe links and toe-to-knuckle bearings. Those who aren’t after outright track performance can opt for the $1260 Street Package, which simply drops the Mustang’s ride height by a full inch.
If you’re willing to shell out an extra two hundred bucks, the coilovers can be optioned in a blue or black finish.
Lastly, Ford is offering a $805 Short Throw Shifter Package which reduces shift distances by 19% and comes with a gloss black Ford Performance knob.
The upgrades are available from Australian Ford stores and are covered by the car’s three-year, 100,000km warranty if bought new, while owners upgrading their existing Mustang’s are treated to a 12 month, 20,000km warranty on the new parts.
