| The following steps were performed on a '94 Mustang GT,
but should be identical for all EFI Mustangs equipped with the 5.0L engine.
The first step is to locate the air-box. This is the cylindrical black
plastic case on the passenger side of your engine near the headlight.

Next locate, and then remove the bolt and two clamps holding the MAF
(located directly above the air-box assembly) to the air-box assembly.
The bolt actually holds the air-box to the frame, but we will need to
be able to "shift" the air-box around slightly in the next step.
Next, wiggle the MAF back-and-forth while lifting up until it completely
disconnects from the air-box assembly and rests above it.
Remove the air-filter from the air-box assembly. If you have a new K&N
air filter you can throw your old one away at this point.
Finally, remove the air-silencer from the air-box assembly.
The easiest way to do this is to push down on the lip of the rubber
seal until the entire air-silencer is disconnected.
After the air-silencer is completely loose of the air-box,
you can remove it by pulling up and out. note: it will be a tight squeeze,
but will eventually come all the way out. You can throw the silencer away,
or keep it as a trophy as your Mustangs first mod!

The Air-Silencer Removed
