2009 FR500CJ Cobra Jet Prototype Lands at Barrett-Jackson

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was the beneficiary of a cool $415,000 that resulted in the sale of Ford’s first 2009 FR500CJ Cobra Jet auctioned at Barrett-Jackson.


The car was one of only two prototypes assembled prior to the low-volume production run. The car, XX1, was used extensively in testing and development. Ford said John and Ashley Force drove the car, as did Robert Hight, Mike Neff, and Bob Tasca III. Ford drag racing legends Bob and Bill Glidden also spent time behind the wheel.
