Jack Roush Jr. in the #00 Mustang Challenge Media Car |
The Barrett-Jackson Auction, which will be held from January 18-24 of next year, will mark the second time that the Mustang Challenge Media Car has gone up for sale. The car was purchased by the SPX Corporation, a multinational corporation that has been in business with the Ford Motor Company since the days of Henry Ford and the original assembly line. SPX will bring the FR500S Mustang Media Car to the auction, and all proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
St. Jude is based in Memphis, Tennessee, and specializes in treating children with serious diseases and also researching cures and treatments for those diseases. There are two distinct qualities that characterize the work done at St. Jude: first, no child is ever denied treatment for any reason. It doesn't matter if that child's family doesn't have a penny to their name, St. Jude will treat them. Second, St. Jude is just as generous with their research and development as they are with their treatment. Any discoveries, cures, treatment options, etc., developed by the researchers at St. Jude is freely given away to the scientific community so that everyone can benefit from their work. You can learn more about the hospital here.
