  2011 Mustang Prices Unveiled

If you’re wondering how much you need to save to get the latest, greatest Ford Mustang, Cars.com has your answer. The auto industry blog unveiled the suggested retail prices for the full line this week.

The base model, with its 305-horsepower aluminum V-6, starts at US$22,145, a nudge from 2010, but on paper the new pony’s power boost, and its 30 miles per gallon rating, makes the $750 premium seem small. The 2010 V-6 carries 210 hp and gets a highway best of 26 mpg. We have the full V-6 story here.

If that new 5.0-liter V-8 is more to your taste, the 2011 GT will set you back $29,645, an increase of $1,250 to match all those extra ponies under the hood. We have the full 5.0 rundown here.

For the full-course meal, there’s the Shelby GT500. The 2010 models were $46,725 for the coupe and $51,725 for the drop-top. The 2011s will start at $48,645 and $53,645. Our coverage of the Shelby GT500 starts here.

Don’t forget these are just suggested base prices. Ford offers a wide range of options, and there are dealer and delivery costs that will be passed along. At least you know where you’re starting now.
