Ted Anthony, Jr., took his fourth win of the season this past weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, but it didn't come easily. He edged out Andrew Caddell after a heated battle between the two that lasted he entire race. At the finish, he was only 1.715 seconds. This finish is pretty impressive, as Anthony Jr. had pole position and Caddell started off in the back of the field. Mike McGovern from Jim Click's Racing took third place to round out the podium.
Caddell started the race with a bang, going from the back of the field to 12th place in a single lap. By lap three, he was up to 6th and in the 4th lap he was already nipping at the heels of the leaders.
Caddell and McGovern, on top of their podium finish in the Mustang Challenge race, also took home 4th place in the KONI Challenge races that took place the day before, Saturday, also at the Maxda Raceway Laguna Seca. Caddell remains the points leader for the 2009 Mustang Challenge series, with Ted Anthony Jr. in second. McGovern has the number eight spot.
