Ford Mustang Given The Drift Vibe With Gittin’s RTR And RTR-C
As we told you a couple of days ago, former world drift champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. has unveiled his vision of the Ford Mustang - the RTR and RTR-C. More an appearance package than a performance tune, the RTR follows a design by Gittin with the help of Caleb Clark and Classic Design Concepts, and was introduced at SEMA this week. On Tuesday, a few more details became available.

Ford Wins Record Number Of Popular Mechanics Excellence Awards
The Ford performance stable was given a big nod Wednesday when venerable Popular Mechanics magazine handed out its 2010 Automotive Excellence Awards, taking top honors in more categories than any other automaker in the history of the awards. And, of course, the Mustang stood on top of the all-important Performance category.

Classic Shelby Tops Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction Price
It was billed as an auction of celebrity cars, but when the final gavel fell, Carroll Shelby was still the star of the collector car world. A 1965 Shelby Cobra Roadster was the top seller at the 2009 Barrett-Jackson auction which wrapped up Oct. 10, topping even the 2009 Iacocca Silver Anniversary Mustang GT. Together, the two cars drew more than US$792,000 (including the 10 per cent buyers premium). Shelby’s name was associated with two other Mustangs in the top five cars: a 1967 Shelby GT500 SE Super Snake Continuation Fastback sold for $330,000, while a 2007 Prudhomme Edition drew $302,500. And overall, Mustangs and Shelby-tagged ponies drew almost $2.7 million.

Newfoundland Mustang Owners Show, Shine And Hand Thousands To Autism Society
For a club that didn’t even exist until this spring, the Newfoundland Chapter of All Ford Mustangs has had one busy summer, and the peak event came Saturday, Oct. 3 in the province's capital city, St. John’s. More than 100 Mustangs filled the parking lot at the Don Cherry’s restaurant on Freshwater Road, and hundreds of people dropped by to support the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, take a chance on ticket draws, vote for their favorite Mustang and soak up the pony car chatter.

Celebrity Cars Line Up With Iococca Mustang For Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction
Star power and car power head to Las Vegas this week for the second annual Barrett-Jackson collector car auction. There will be collector vehicles from Bruce Willis, Don Johnson and Jay Leno, but you can bet one of the hottest properties will be the Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang. Lee Iacocca, known as the "Father of the Mustang," presented the Ford Mustang to the world at the 1964 New York World's Fair. During his time as Ford Division president and general manager, Iacocca made the Mustang a household name. Now, Iacocca is selling one of the most anticipated limited edition versions of this iconic classic, the No. 5 Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang (Lot #3000).

Mustang Owners Gather To Celebrate Racing For Autism Check Presentation
The St. John’s, Newfoundland Chapter of All Ford Mustangs rolled onto the grounds of the Elaine Dobbin Center for Autism Sunday afternoon to cheer on the Targa Newfoundland Racing for Autism team.
Ray Halleran and Justin Gibbons were not racing Halleran’s 2010 Mustang GT Sept. 20; they were carrying the spoils of the race they had just finished.

Targa Newfoundland 2009 Wraps With Repeat Winner In Targa, New Winner In Touring
It was wet and wild at the start and the finish, but the eighth annual Targa Newfoundland lived up to expectations of excitement for competitors and spectators alike as it made its way up the East Coast of the island Sept. 12-18. Rally Faithful Readying For Targa Newfoundland

Mustang GT Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr Closing in on Title
Vaughn Gittin Jr., who this year traded his 2005 Mustang for a 2010 Mustang GT with a supercharged 4.6L engine, edged up the leader board at Sonoma’s Infineon Raceway August 8 with a solid seventh-place finish August 22.

Vaughn Gittin Increases Points Rank In 2009 Formula Drift
Vaughn Gittin ran into a bit of bad luck at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for round four of Formula Drift 2009, but he still increased his points ranking. At the wheel of a 2010 Falken Tire Ford Mustang, Gittin managed to avoid potential disaster in qualifying and snag a top sixteen finish.
