Fox-Body Fans Called To Ohio Reunion

The members of the Mustang Club of Ohio had such a good time at the Arthritis Societyís first Fox-Body Reunion in 2009 they have decided to gather again in 2010, and Performance Parts Inc. has signed on as a sponsor.

Hundreds gathered for the first Fox-Body Reunion.

The reunion is just a part of the 28th annual Classic Auto Show and Cruise In at the Dublin Metro Center in Dublin, Ohio, (north of Columbus, scheduled for July 9 and 10. In 2009 hundreds of fox-body Mustangs answered the reunion call, and organizers hope 2010 will be bigger and better.

The fun starts Friday, July 9, with the cruise-in. More than 1,500 antique cars, street rods, muscle cars, customs and European exotics are expected to roll onto the Metro Center parking lot. Judges will be busy until 7 p.m., and then the owners and other participants will enjoy live music ó and each otherís company. At some point during the concert, 100 six-foot-high trophies will be rolled into the haul for the top cruise-in cars. There will also be a bevy of specialty awards handed out.

If your head can stand it, Saturday will start early, getting ready for the Mustang Show, featuring 20 classes for the ponies and the specially featured Fox-Body Reunion. Cars will be judged through the afternoon, with the awards parade set to start at 4:30 p.m.

More music at 7:30 p.m., this time from oldies crooners Phil Dirt and The Dozers. Sounds like too much fun to miss.

The event has been running since 1982, under the caring wing of the Central Ohio Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. At the time, chapter president Bob Lincoln and car dealer Leonard Immke hoped the annual show would give participants an opportunity to display and share their classic cars with others in the community, while at the same time raising much-needed funds for the Central Ohio Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.

That first show raised $50,000. The Arthritis Foundation's Classic Auto Show now boasts 25 judged classes of automobiles including 22 Show-Within-A-Show groups. Local and regional car clubs present each Show-Within-A-Show group. For more information or to register, visit www.arthritisautoshow.com. Hereís this summerís schedule:
