As you can tell from the picture above, the 2010 Ford Ranger doesn't look that much different from older Rangers. But, the new model boasts a complement of enhanced features that will be on display at the Goodwin Festival of Speed in England this weekend working as a support vehicle. Showing off a new model in a support capacity, like driving around and setting up the trappings of the event, isn't the normal tack for debuts, but it fits in with what Ford wants people to know about the new Ranger. Yes, it's small and it has a fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine, but that doesn't stop it from getting the job done.
Under the hood is a familiar 2.3-liter I4 that boasts an impressive fuel economy of 21 mpg city / 26 highway. That may not seem that important now, but give the economy a chance to rebound and fuel prices will go back up with it, and that's when you'll be happy you picked a Ranger. Also, every single Ranger model has Advance Trac and Roll Stability Control (RSC) features designed specifically for the new Ranger, giving you more bang for you buck. And, there's a new set of safety features, including side air bags, that you don't normally see on a small truck like the Ranger.
The 2010 Ford Ranger is set to hit dealer showrooms in September and there's sure to be a lot more information as that time draws nearer, but all you need to know is already available: the Ranger refuses to die, regardless of sales figures, and it has a good chance to flourish in the coming years.
