Ford Once Again Number Two Automaker.

Something you won't easily find among the headlines is that Ford is once again this nation's number two automaker. In January of this year, to much fanfare it was widely reported that Ford Motor Company was knocked off the silver medal tier as number two, by its Japanese rival Toyota Motor Corporation. What most do not know is that Ford regained its standing in February and then in March widened its lead over Toyota by over 10,000 vehicles. For some reason this garnered none of the worldwide attention that Ford's 30 day fall did. (Perhaps, Ford could use Bill Clinton to whine about unfair coverage?)

Members of our forum have been debating and suggesting strategies for the past couple of years in our discussion thread Ford Needs Saving.

Longtime members will remember that our membership believed, presciently, that Ford should reinvest in Ranger in particular, as increasing gas prices would surely increase demand for the pickup truck with the best available gas mileage.

Now if we can get Ford's President, CEO, and other board members to listen to our membership, perhaps we can save Mercury as well!
