It may sound like a call from a 1980s cartoon, but, "Steve Saleen to the rescue!" Last month it was announced that MJ Acquisitions, the new owners of the Saleen brand, would not be covering warranties for any vehicles or parts sold before February 2, 2009, claiming that that coverage was the responsibility of the previous brand owner Saleen, Inc., which has since gone under.

Steve Saleen has since started a new company, SMS Supercars, and legally, he could neglect to cover the warranties becuase they are technically the responsibility of the now defunct Saleen, Inc. But Mr. Saleen doesn't want to do that. Mr. Saleen says that the customers "left out in the cold are loyal customers of Saleen products." He continues to say that his covering the warranties despite having no legal obligation to is "a bold statement on the right way to treat customers."
