OAKVILLE, Ontario, March 1, 2005 - Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited, reported a 5.1 per cent increase in car sales in February at 3,536 units. Truck sales were down slightly, off 1.5 per cent at 11,352 units, for an overall monthly sales total of 14,888 cars and trucks - up four units over the same month last year. For the year, Ford car sales are 11.6 per cent ahead of the first two months of 2004, led by stampeding sales of the all-new 2005 Ford Mustang, recently named Canadian Car of the Year by the Automobile Journalists' Association of Canada (AJAC).

Ford Freestyle and Five Hundred sales continued month-over-month gains in the Canadian market, with their best monthly sales since they were introduced. "The Ford Five Hundred, Freestyle and the incredible new Mustang are attracting new car shoppers to our dealers across Canada," said Robert Girard, vice president, general sales, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited. "The Escape continues to be Canada's top selling SUV, and the new Escape Hybrid, the North American Truck of the Year, is the first no-compromise gas-electric hybrid SUV, helping to create a better world for the future."
