This great family event celebrated our City's unique and historic connection with the Ford Mustang which began in 1964 when the first ever Ford Mustang was sold right here in the City of St. John's. The show featured an impressive display of both new and classic Mustangs covering all generations of Ford Mustang, from past to present, all in the beautiful backdrop of scenic Bowring Park provided by the the City of St. John's.
The show's highlight came when City Mayor Dennis O'Keefe presented Mr. Harry Phillips with a special Appreciation Award for selling in 1964 the very first production Ford Mustang ever built which was also the very first production Mustang ever sold, to Captain Stan Tucker, from the old George G.R. Parsons Ford dealership, located right here in St. John's, Newfoundland.
