347 CAM suggestions

Hey guys, for reasons to long to detail I need to replace my cam in my new 347. I had a Ford E racing cam, but since heard of cams more compatible with the 94-95 computers. I have a .040, 10.5, 347, windsor sr heads that have been ported and polished by Keith Kraft racing (2.02/1.64/210 runners). Trick Flow track heat intake with 24lb injectors. 65mm TB w/ matched cold air tune. Lots of little extras,T-5, 3.73 gears, pulleys, smog delete, egr delete, ect. looking to shift @ 5800-6200 pending dyno results. Looking for the best HP/torque cam suggestions.............

Nice combo, I have had a similair combo, I would run the Comp Cams Extreme energy 274hr, now matter which cam you end up with you will need to tune and chip the ecm. By what I can tell you should also step up to 30# or even 36# injectors right away also.

Just another Mustang or 2,3,... actually 4

Cam intake .555, exhaust .565, duration intake 224, exhaust 232, and a lobe sep of 112. I beleive the hp #'s were 340-345 rwhp with 24# injectors and stock intake. I since have done more mods and haven't hit the dyno yet.

Just another Mustang or 2,3,... actually 4

I did some research for my 347 after being limited with my 69 351 heads and an F-cam (226 duration and .544 lift with 1.7RR). I don't think you can go wrong with what Ford Racing has chosen for their 347, which basically is the XE282HR (232 duration and .565 lift on Intake and 240 duration at .574 lift on Exhaust with 112 LSA). HP numbers are solid at 450 hp at the crank. I've seen other dyno comparison numbers with this cam and it's even out performed the Comp Cams own XFI stroker cams. Peak hp rpm is at a reasonable 6100 - which is your requested target range. I'm definitely sold on this cam and will be installing in the next month or so.

Have you truly entered Jesus ONE "Kingdom of GOD" or the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church through "water (baptism) and Spirit (Laying of Hands)" John 3:5 ??? Jesus fulfills Ezekiel 36:25-27 prophesy. You see entering the Early Church in this same pattern in Acts 2:38 and specifically explained in Acts 8:14-17 and Acts 19:5-6. Enter His ONE "Kingdom of GOD" to receive Jesus as the "Lamb of GOD" (John 1:29, 1 Corinthians 5:7, 1 Peter 1:19) for ETERNAL LIFE John 6:54.

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. Like the numbers.

Here is an 5.0 dyno comparison showing the XE282HR toasting the XFI cams, especially in torque:

Being a 347 owner also the first incarnation i used this comp cam

COMP Cams: Nitrous HP, NX274HR <br> Street/Strip Applications, Rough Idle

i was real happy with the performance....
the powerband is what you want...

But if you want to do it right and get every ounce of power out of the combo i highly recommend a custom grind....

the is cost is slightly higher but the performance results far outweigh the additional funds needed....

I can attest to that cam, it'd be at home in a 347. I also like the other Comp Cam, it too is very powerful.
