New top installation can get pricey because it's not a simple process.

as far as ive seen in pricing around here, it can get to be well over a grand to get a top installed. This just being the vinyl top, not the whole assembly. If i where you, id look into doing it myself, ive heard its not a hard job, just long and tedious.

every shop shot me a price of around 1k-1500 to replace mine. i found a v6 parts car and swapped its top over including the whole mechanics of it all and motor. it took about 3 days avoiding the rain and snow in the oregon winter. i would go this route because i ended up making $50 on the deal and got a new top stereo a set of spare interior panels and power mirrors out of it. i had never worked on a top before in my life and figured it out fairly fast. plus im only 22 so if you know your way around your car it should be no problem. altho i would recommend taking the car to a shop after the install to have them align it properly with the windshield, mine gaps out about 1/2 inche on the drivers side and i cant get it to close for the life of me.

just my .02
its always your car do what you think is best.

Why don't you call around for a price in your area? Then you'll know what the cost will be exactly.
