I searched on the forum. I couldn't find the routing diagram for 1994 5.0 with all the 8 pulleys. Could anybody please help me locate the diagram? When I was pulling out the old belt I thought I would remember the sequence but I screwed up.
If you just keep in mind that the grooved pulleys (alternator, PS pump, AC, crank, smog pump) should spin clockwise, and the flat surface pulleys (water pump, tensioner, idler) should spin counterclockwise, you'll have the belt routing nailed in seconds.

One more question for you guys on this subject:
Would it mess anything up if I just bypassed the smog and A/C pulleys and did not do anything else to the vehicle? A/C blows hot anyway. Obviously I would need the correct length belt which I will find with the string method, or if anyone knows what size fits that, then that would be great too! If I bypassed the A/C pulley would the car still blow hot air with the heater or no?
Here are some belt routing diagrams that I put together myself:
You can bypass both the smog and AC pulleys with a shorter belt (~82.7" with stock pulleys or belt part no. 6PK2100). The heater will still blow warm air of course. The only difference is that when you switch the AC blower on, you'll also get warm air instead of cold.
Thanks Bullitt95! I got a belt that was half an inch bigger than you said b/c that parts store was out of the correct size and it was a little too big when I installed it. I went this morning and got an inch smaller (their next smallest size) and am going to go home and install it at lunch and take the car on the test drive. I think my smog pump seized up also b/c it doesn't turn freely any longer. Good thing I don't need it! Thanks again for the help!
