Your firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. You take the plug out of the #1 cylinder, and take the distributor cap off. Rotate the engine over till you feel air pressure coming out of the plug hole, and the rotor is coming close to the #1 plug location. You then set the timing mark to 0 on the balancer, that's TDC. Look back to the rotor and make sure it's still at #1, and then make sure the plug wires are in the right location when, looking down from above, going counterclock wise around the cap. Start the car and then make sure the timing advance is correct, typically 12-14 degrees with the spout connector unplugged.
