Default Turbo question concerning Non Fuel Injected Motor

Is it possible to put a turbo on a non efi 2.3? I dont wanna sound like an idiot, I just really dont know and most I have seen for purchase had something about efi in the description. Any advice would rock.

Thank you

I have an '86 non fox. Is it a serious pain to replace the Carb with fuel injection?

You need a fuel tank, fuel lines, wiring, injectors, intake, exhaust, etc

Maybe 20PSI, new computer, new 3" VAM, and some porting will make it faster

Well , I found a 91 2.3l for a donor car. Its not gonna cost much and I should be able to borrow whatever I need to get my car running spiffy. I figure since they are relatively close in year they should be parts swappable?

the 91 has the duel plug head and distributorless ignition, so if you want to turbo it this is not the best choice. i would find a turbocoupe or some other 2.3turbo car to be the donor

I would find a 1987-1990 2.3 car. Much easier to do the swap to because you just move a few wires over

Well, I am kind of torn at this moment. A mechanic friend of mine knows where I can get a 302 at a very cheap price from a junkyard. It isnt fuel injected either. He said it would most likely be less expensive to go that way since all I would really have to do is reroute the fuel line. I would get far less gas mileage, but it may be worth it to eat rice burners for breakfast everywhere I go.
