I was browsing ebay for a donor 2.3T car and happened across this....a good running, not bad looking SVO. guy says he'll sell it for $1200 off of ebay. just giving some Texas locals a chance to pick up a nice resto project or donor car for hella cheap....
That car has been hacked by the last owner. I would buy it but all the hard to get parts are gone (like the front end, lights, snail panels, bi-wing, etc) Would be a nice resto project still if you have the parts or a bad car with them

The sad thing is, with 15 PSI, straight back exhaust, and a bobs log, it still feels slow...
Maybe 20PSI, new computer, new 3" VAM, and some porting will make it faster
As hacked-up as that SVO is... it'd be a hard choice between:
1. Finishing what one owner started and completing the GT look while keeping the 2.3.
2. Tackling the rather tough undertaking of restoring it to SVO appearance.
3. Parting it for it's very desirable driveline and letting the other car die peacefully.
Only thing that bothers me is that the car seems to have 16x7 pony wheels which were 4-lug, and SVOs were 5-lug... a little something doesn't add up in there somewhere.

I'm sure you can find aftermarket reproductions of the missing parts....or If you could find one that is being parted out on craigslist or something, which I've seen a lot of lately (minus the engine, tranny, etc of course) could be an easy project to undertake.
I don't think they are the good ol' ponies that everyone knows and loves, but rather an optional 16" alloy wheel that was available for the 96-98 V6 Mustang. They have too many defined lines where the ponies are basically smooth...
Oh well, if I lived in the area, I'd at least go check it out and start sourcing for SVO parts

Get your check book out because those parts arent cheap and some of them aren't even made anymore

You haven't actually tried looking for SVO pieces have ya? lol
I came close to buying a 1985 SVO a couple of years back, the only reason I didn't was because the front corner lenses were busted out and the only set I could find anywhere was over $250 on Ebay... I guess in hindsight I could've bought it and put something from the parts store universal lighting shelf in there temporarily until I could save up for a set of corners, but I really didn't want to do that to such an awesome car.

Let us know how it works out! If I lived anywhere near there, I would have gone the day I found it... but of course the only decent cars for sale near me are overpriced and built wrong lol.
oh my ..........I have a great idea. buy the car. use the platform and make my exp into a svo powered exp. then use the extra svo parts for my svo and the gt parts for my gt....wow....
