Is there a way to determine if your car has California emissons stuff on it? Is there a certain number or a combo of letters on the door tag or is it listed in the vin somehow? Just curious cause yesterday my friend took one look under my hood and had a feeling that it was a California car. Mainly do to the excessive amount of vacuum lines.
My car is an 81 Mercury Zephyr...if that matters any.

Being that it is an 81, if the emissions decal is still readable, it should say somewhere on it something to the effect of "This vehicle conforms to all EPA and California regulations." Can't really tell by looking at the engine.
