Doesn't really stand for anything. It's just the designator that corresponds to a certain option package.

I always understood that is was LUXURY, but not sure. Wasn't that the top of the line mustang?

I always thought it was for luxury as well. I was told the GT was Grand Touring, the Capri's GS was Grand Sport, and the RS was Rally Sport. Not sure if any of that is actually true.

I dont believe the letters marking the model of the vehicle are actually designated to stand for something. Everyone you ask will give you a different answer. I could name a dozen for GT off the top of my head that ive heard before...

The sad thing is, with 15 PSI, straight back exhaust, and a bobs log, it still feels slow...

Maybe 20PSI, new computer, new 3" VAM, and some porting will make it faster

lsc means luxury sport coupe, i thought lx was a luxury crossed "X" with sport.

LX most definatly means Luxury. but i havent looked to up the component lists, i would assume that LX models had more extras. also theres no GT 4 banger, and just like some luxury cars have big engines, some LX's have the 5.0

Air silencer removed
t-5 all the way
1400 watt sound system w/ twin 12" chrome subs

I saw the LX badge on a mid 80's T-Bird the other day. So its not just a stang package.

The LX is lighter than the GT most claim so it probably doesnt have that many extras in it

I don't honestly know what LX stands for. I have the LX model well 2 of them actually an 88 and an 89, and I have always thought of the LX as the lowest model. The GT is the Luxury model if you ask me. The GT is the one with leather seats, extra trim, factory fog lights, higher performance, and so on right? I know my LX's just have cloth seats nothing too amazing as for trim... they do have air conditioning, and cruise but thats pretty much it.
