The PE computer isn't a plug and play for the 84 and 85 models. There is some repinning and components swapping involved.
Also, the SVO ONLY came with a 5 speed manual transmission.
Another difference not discussed here between models is the trim differences in the turbos from the 84-85 models, and the 85.5-86 models. The trim was .48/.60 on the 85.5-86 models, allowing for quicker spool-up, but not as much power in the higher RPM band. Then again, power doesn't move the car, torque does, and that is why this engine does so well. It will usually -USUALLY- put out about 50 more lb-ft of torque than the HP numbers.
The SVO was developed for road racing (auto-X for you youngsters) SCCA style. It has a suspension that almost no other production Mustang has been able to touch. In the SCCA version of the car, they used a FMIC. This never saw installation on the production models.
A header is not necessarily money best spent. If one were to aquire an "E6" manifold and lightly port it, it will do just as well without the headaches of a header. Also, when talking about "a bigger turbo".....bigger is not necessarily better. A turbo system is "developed" for a vehicle, not "built". There are many things to consider before selecting a turbo.......CFM ratings, pressure drop of the IC, volumetric efficiency, turbo A/R trim......
