I was successful at changing my automatic to a manual with a tremec T5 and it is sweet, i am so glad a swaped it over

agreeed, i would love to make this swap myself not sure what all involved though.. well i mean i know but ive never done a swap on these cars haha

The easiest route to go is find a turbo coupe thunderbird and get the bellhousing, trans, and all the associated cabling for the hydraulic clutch setup.
The pedal assembly can come from any foxbody.

Remember that you will need to get the right speedo drive gear that is in the trans that will match the rear diff gear. The '87-'88 TCs had a 3:73 for the stick. Summit, Jegs, Ford, etc has them. They are color coded.

In addition, if you swap out the fluid for fresh, make sure you use ATF and not gear oil.

I almost wish I'd gone hydraulic when I did mine. I don't have any issues with the stock cable setup working properly, I just don't care for the convoluted way the linkage works.

It still not too late to change I suppose.
