Default 1992 Mustang LX 2.3

hey errrrbody its been a while since ive been on and it feels good to be back just purchased another mustang and im stoked its got the 2.3 in it and im a little confused by it i did a full tune up on it fuel,ignition,oil,trans etc but im still only gettin bout 19to21 miles to the gallon.i get 17-19 out of my gt.is that normal for the 2.3 or is there suttin im missing.is there suttin i can do to get it up to maybe 25-28.

Thats normal for me I average right around 21mpg I do a little better running it in over drive sometimes but besides that its normal.

see if your pcv valve is working i think thats what it is called if thats bad you dont get as good of gass mileage for some reason.

Alot of people say the air silencer removal trick helps mileage as well as throttle response.

just checked my mileage today, getting 25 mpg.

Pacesetter long tube header, Magnaflow High flow cat, Flowmaster Deltaflow 40 series, ported upper and lower intake manifold, EGR breather, CAI from mustangsunlimited.

I've heard some people gettin friggin 32 miles on a 5 speed. But other than throwing one in there check the egr valve and pcv valve

A standard transmission is better for fuel economy, well thats just one thing that makes it better.

If you can put a real cold air intake on, i used to get 19-21 and i am currently getting about 24-25mpg.

Used to get 18-19 with the a4ld swapped in the 5spd and getting 23-25 now. Same tune up from 4 months ago. Go 5 speed

the 5 spd should help fuel econmy but im getting 22-24 mpg
