Question 1991 Mustang (LX??) Gear Question...

Hi I'm new here, don't know anything about mustangs.

I'm in a debate with a couple people, and thought that the third-gen mustangs (...I think thats what it falls under) came optional with a posi gear, 3.08 maybe, or 3.73???

Can anyone help or advise? I'm not really Ford-savvy, I like Fords, don't get me wrong. Drive one to this day but my "toy" car isn't ford, so I never really absorbed any info...
But I think having a daily driver Ford says enough about its reliability. Thanks in advance for any help!
Michelle

Sorry Mods I think I put this in the wrong forum...

All years of mustangs came with the limited slip differential as an option or standard with certain packages. A posi as you call it is just the GM term for a limited slip diff. Ford calls it Traction Lock and Chrysler I'm not sure of the name they used. Sure-Trac maybe? Whatever, if a 87-93 mustang had a v8 it had a trac lock diff. Actual gearing ratio depended on whether it was a manual, automatic or special order ratio from the factory. I don't know what configurations the 79-86 mustangs had with trac lock diffs but it would've been at least an option on any of those years.
