Default 1989 mustang 2.3l,hook it up or swap it out?

i have a 1989 mustang with a 2.3L in it.i was wondering if the 2.3 is worth hooking it up and what can i do to it to give it a little more horse power.another question i had was would it be better if i switch it out witha 5.0 motor.

I would switch it out for a 5.0 because you can make you 4cyl. turbo and get good power but for the price your going to pay to make it turbo and basicly rebuild your motor which you would have todo, it'll be cheaper to make it into a 5.0.

you should have posted it in the tech area, but thats neither here nor there, it all depends on your wallet, personally i like my lil 4 banger its different from everybody else, you could swap in a turbo engine from various cars that pretty much swap right out, if your gunna put a v8 in my as well go all out get a 351w or something of that sort

Rebuilding your 2.3 engine in order to turbo would be well worth it in the end. The reason you should try to go turbo is because I hear they spank the 5.0.. but I don't really know this for sure lol. Also because turbo 2.3s are hard to find now a days. The 5.0 are still a little hard to find although not as hard, so it would be easier to just buy a 5.0.

I get tired of people saying they aren't worth it. I've talked to Racer Walsh and they said you can git 400hp N/A from it. And this is for my carbed one, a long way from its 88hp (god forbid it it hasn't lost any from age) stock. I mean it keeps the car light, easy on gas.
