Has any one ever done side pipes on a 2.3 Mustang?

I was just curoius has anyone ever done side pipe(s) on a 2.3L fox body?

I have done them.They sound pretty good,but do hang low,so watch the speed bumps.

I was thinking just one side because the car being a four cylinder would not really binefit from duals

I was thinking of doing this too. Because the exhaust pipe after the muffler robs you of HP. I took a look if I can get it to work but it does seem like it would hang low.

Is it legal to do? I know some states get funky about certain part placements.

Hmm, im not sure if it is or isn't. I think its legal, only if you dont have a muffler its illegal in some states.

it robs you more noise than hp ... hp are most lost way before ... cat, pipe, muffler ...

u dont hav to run them along the sides i made mine come out just in front of the rear wheels (nascar style) on my 5.0

they sound so great when it exchos off bulidings i lov em

legally you have to have a muffler, and a cat.. i would not put side pipes on a fox.. a four cylinder car will never benefit from duals.. out the sides or out the back.. duals on a 4 is for looks.... if it is a N/A you dont want a bigger diameter exhaust than 2.25".. or you will lose power.. a muffler will not take away hp, its possible for it to give you some...

I know in North Carolina side pipes are illegal except on cetain vehicles like the 97 ford f-150, which nocks me out of the side option.

Maybe not a stock 4cylinder. I'm running duals by the time I finish modding the damned thing. A 3inch exhaust wouldn't hurt you.

actaully it will

if you have a N/A you shouldn't have any bigger than a 2.25 exhaust on it. but if you have a turbo, then a 3" is necessary..

my svo has a 3 in downpipe and goes into 2 21/5 in duel exhaust. I mentioned to my mechinic that the 4 cylinder wouldn't need duels but he says if they have v8 power they do need the duel exhaust. I dont know if the side exhaust would look good on a fox but maybe if you get the aftermarket svo sides it might look good.
