Default 87 Turbo 2.3 1/4

Ive got the 87 Fox with the turbo 2.3, i installed a manual boost controller, and its set at 17.5 PSI. My question is, if my buddy lets me borrow his slicks, what kind of time do you think ill run in the quarter. Its Got a T5, 8.8 w/ 3.55? Im just curious.

Also, whats the part they recomend disconecting when using a manual boost controller, im not talking about the Knock sensor, its something on the firewall. Someone please explain and post a pic of it. Thanks very much.

the time depends on you, your clutch, your method of clutch action.

Try feathering the clutch out of 1st (like you are hauling a trailer) at about 4-4.5k RPM. Now, in using slicks, don't blame me if you tear something up!!

Unplug the Boost Control Module (BCM). Just trace out the boost solenoid wiring to find it. I should be near the strut tower.

I took it to the strip, i only got 2 runs in because the Outlaw Street and Door wars cars were also running.

On my first run, i babyed it off the line, like at idle, and ran a 16.111 at 88 MPH.

My second run, i did a nice long burnout and launched at 3,000. And i ran a 38.4. lol.

My intercooler mount came off of the exhaust manifold, and when it made boost and the engine torqued, it pulled it straight out of the throttle body connecter, and i sputtered all the way down the track. O well, have to go next weekend and hope for low 15s.

Lol, like i said, the engine torqued, and because the intercooler mount was loosened, and then the torque of the engine ripped the intercooler right off the throttle body.

To bad, their was a F Body camaro in the lane next to me, and i was gonna smoke him, bad.

He ran a 16.5. O well. live and learn.
