Easy fix ups,1989 Mustang Hello everyone,
I have a 1989 2.3L mustang convertible, i was wondering about some easy things that i can do to make it a little faster. I am not very expeirienced with cars and engines. I just need some advice on easy fixes and simple things to make it go faster and run better. I have changed the spark plugs and oil. I was thinkin about replacing the fuel lines and radiator hoses. Any suggestions??

A better coil and some high quality plug wires will compliment your new plugs nicely. Is yours a dual plug head or not?
A K&N will go into the stock airbox quite easily, and a little PVC pipe will help get rid of the stupid intake muffler.
Disconnecting the knock sensor wont hurt either.

Hi,
You have a DIS ignition system so your coils are those 2 coil packs that house your ignition wires.
As for the Knock Sensor, it basically does what its name implies and that it checks for pinging and well as engine vibrations. If the knock sensor detects any unusual conditions, it will retard the timing. Thats the easiest way i can explain it, lol.

Ignition Coils are the devices that provide the voltage for the spark plugs to ignite the fuel.
There made up of windings are use electromagentic induction to work.

yeah but they mean that you have two spark plugs for each cylinder.. as far as i know you should only have one, thats the way mine is.. when you count the plug wires, you should have four, right?
