Replacing my 1989 Mustang oil cap Hey
I have a 1989 2.3L convertible mustang and i want to replace the stock oil cap with a crome filter one.. can i do this or are they only for the 5.0's

That one wont work, the 2.3s have a two pronged screw in oil fil cap. Autozone has a nice chrome cap that can be used. It just has to have the two prongs, and be of the screw in type. Have fun.

That one says screw in, but the picture shows it as a push in style.

Did you go and check what autozone has? They have some nice ones. Im not 100% sure, but i think the 5.0s actually had threads like a screw that screw in. The 2.3s have just 2 prongs that you turn and it locks in the cap.

oh.. im gonna look today at the threads.. if i doesnt fit ill go to autozone.. but i like the breatable filter.

i went ahead and ordered the oil cap today.. ill see if it fits when it gets here.. my CAI is on back order as well.
