can anyone tell me where i can get a cheap 2.3L 5 speed tranny for my 87 Lx, i know its probably not good to put a used tranny in it... but im on a budget and not to worried about it.

which T5 are you going for? Because there is a slight difference in the gearing on the 5.0 T5 vs. the 2.3 T5.

I actually have a rebuilt T5 5 speed for 1986-88 Turbo Coupe for sale. I think it fits Mustangs but on the tag it just says 86-88 TC Thunderbird. It has no oil so shipping should be easy.
If you are interested I can send it to you within the USA for $600 total. Its from "TRC". My dad paid $889 for it plus a core charge but he gave the rebuild shop another transmission, we dont need a core.

Uhh, Turbocoupe is a foxbody and even if it weren't it has a 2.3 so it'll work. Ranger 2.3 T5 you can use. or if you want to on the cheap get a 5.0 t5, install 2.3 output shaft and 1st gear cause the 2.3 has a steeper first gear ratio.
