Cool 1993 4cyl Mustang. Need Conversion Advice

Ive got a clean 93' Mustang 4cyl LX. Has 65,000 Original Miles on it. I am saving money so I can convert it to a cobra or even a better type. I need to know what needs to be done & also what you guys recommend that I do to it. I want an all around fun, fast, sick ass car. I think I need a new computer, engine, transmission, & back end. I could really use some help on what I should do. I'm willing to spend $3,000 to $5,000. Help me out fellas. Need some input

I'm in the process of doing a 5.0 v8 swap in my '90 2.3. The best/easiest way to do this: get a parts car! I got an '89 lx 5.0 parts car I can swap everything over from. I'm using the stock 5.0, might mod it a little bit, but eventually going to atleast stroker 347. But until then, the whole drivetrain, motor to rear end is going over, brakes, computer and wiring harness, etc. It'll have a few surprises along the way though: transbrake, line locks, gauges, new interior, then bodywork and paint, and a LOT more. If you can't find/afford a parts car, the best parts to use are off an '89. ANY specific ?s about the swap, don't be afraid to ask me or any other fellow stangers out there. Good luck with the swap man!

if your car is clean and with under 100K on it, why would you want to mess it up? it seems like its still a good car,

are you sure it's only got 65k? I know the fox bodies usually had odometers that went to the 10,000s. It may have rolled over.

If its a clean car then it most likely has those miles. I know mine is very clean and was garaged most of its life with no rust. When I bought it, it had 63k Miles. I also made sure it drove like it had 63k.

Instead of doing the 5.0 swap you might want to think about going turbo. You'll get the 5.0 hp with 4 cyl gas mileage. Especially since your stang has low miles like mine, I would just rebuild it with turbo parts. I didn't want to replace my engine with the 5.0 since my 2.3 engine is still great.

If turbo need forged pistons. Personelly that low mileage leave as is. Use as daily driver and get one to play with. Mine started out as 200 piece of car and went up. I got less in whole car than your lowest fiqure. Took a lot of j-yard looking and swapping around but doable.
