I may be swapping a motor out of a merkur into my car, just wondering if i should keep the t-5 in my car or use the t-9 out of the xr4ti. What;s the difference between the two?

The t5 is probably the way to go since parts for it would be easier to find. I don't know what the power rating on th t9 is though but according to what i've read it was the 5spd manual that Ford had before they had the t5. Ford went with the t5 after it had the t9 so apparently Ford thatought the t5 was better or just cheaper.

stick with the t5, it will just be easier to work with

t-5 hands down. Most highly tuned merkurs are changing to t-5.
