Every car, every transmission, and every clutch are different; but you get used to it after awhile.

I've driven DOZENS of different stickshift vehicles over the years, and I eventually got to the point where I almost never stall one.

There are some cars (4.0L Jeep Wranglers and early Saturns) that make driving a manual transmission so easy and so enjoyable; and there are others (4.2L F150s and Mazda RX8s) that make you wish you'd stuck with an automatic at first; but even those will eventually be mastered with time and practice.

Just keep after it, learn from your mistakes (loud buzzes, whines, and crunches are BAD! lol) and eventually you'll get it down, until the next car you try to drive with one.... then you'll have to learn what it drives like.

Cool

Dude that's awesome, I turned 16 back in July and I bought a 1993 Mustang LX (auto) I also have a 1986 Fiero (auto). I really want a manual car it looks like it would make driving more fun. Right now I'm looking into a 92 camaro with stickshift. Only problem is I don't have the money right now for it and I don't want to sell my 2 beasts.

I have drove a 4.2l f 150 and drove fine but the first car I drove on the road with one was a 02 chevy cavalier.

Finally I got the hang of it. What I really had trouble with was once it was all warmed up, the timing of letting off the clutch and giving it gas had changed! After sitting at a red light all alone, I felt like it was going to turn off once I was letting off the clutch. Gave it more gas and it jerked forward but it kept going then I just kept driving like normal. Its easy when it wasn't warmed up because I dont need to give it a lot of gas, but once it does the timing of releasing the clutch and pressing the gas changed. Practice really did work
