Default 1988 mustang turns over but wont start?

Hey guys i have a 1988 2.3L 5 speed mustang that turns over but will not start. It has'nt been driven for around 8 months. I bought new sparkplugs, a new distributor cap and rotor. I also put gas in it.
How can i get it running, any ideas?

thanks.

Default welcome

welcome to the site..
go with what metal said.
if not that, maybe seized bearings, which are a pain.
check all the belts, steering, flush the coolant, lube the pistons and maybe seafoam it with a full tank of gas

Thumbs up 1988 mustang turns over but wont start?

I have the EXACT same car, only an automatic.. There are many problems with these suckers.. Let me know if any of these suggestions help. I have found that one of the largest problems that these cars have, is the ignition module. They are also NOTORIOUS for the ignition switch going bad.

I can give a little direction, as I have replaced virtually every possible electrical part that runs the car.

Regards,
Mitch.

Here's a free check....

Put a timing light on it like normal and have someone turn the engine over. The light should strobe if you have spark.
