Default 2.3l just threw a rod

Well I have gotten a lot out of this forum, but it is now time to say goodbye.

I got about 6000 miles out of my 2.3l that I bought at 176000 miles, whose motor was strong. It had a tap in it that went away after a warm up, so i was not too concerned about it.

I had just cleaned out my cat, and got a few more HP, when the worst case senerio happened. I had been driving it about 200 miles a day up and down a mountain, and wanted a few more HP to get up the mountain.

I had gotten it too, when I was going up the mountain I got it to accelerate beyond what was the limit of 65mph then it started to miss bad, and I saw the white smoke pouring out the rear...

I slowed down and looked an yup oil all over my motor, I tried to get to the next exit, nothing doing more racket and then nothing but a puddle of oil under the motor..

I won't be able to get it before the hook comes from the police so good bye to the 2000 bucks I put into restoring it.. someone is going to get a great car with 17 inch performace tires and wheels, all new brakes all the way around it and a nice convertable top..

now the next check will have to buy another car... i doubt it will be another foxbody, cause I need a BIG HEAVY car to deal with the wind, rain and snow every day...

So if you live near the Summit on 90 in Washington and you know where they will tow it to, go get it...

Thanks for all your help I really appreaciate this forum, I didn't post much, but I was always here reading...

there are motors that are used for about 200 bucks and you can buy one from a ranger too then put it in your car or just get it rebuilt it doesnt cost more than a new car
