WOW! What a difference a weekend of work makes. Saturday I installed a Transgo shift kit in the A4LD & replaced the Exhaust with new cats & muffler. Also installed new timing belt, waterpump, thermostat & spark plugs. This little 2.3 will actually spin the 235/60-15 BFG's now. I am certainly impressed with this 2.3.

Hey Bro! I think we met. Bought a convertible boot from ya a few months back. or was it the A4LD? Or the 93 Hood?
Help would be great. Getting ready to start on my 89 5.0. Just about done with the 92 2.3 for the wife. getting top $ Windshield replaced next month then its all hers and the 5.0 is all mine.

The difference is like night & day. I've installed a TransGo shift kit on every automatic Mustang I've owned and as far as I'm concerned, it's not an option, it's a must.

The shift kit is not that hard. The article at the Explorer forum is really in depth. There also is an A4LD rebuild at the same site. Read it before you atempt it if you never torn down an auto trans before.
I lucked out on mine. Bought the transmission from Craigslist. The guy had it rebuilt but it didn't work correct. Long shift delays, No overdrive. So he converted to a T5. I tore the valve body out and found a few missing parts. Solanoid for 4th gear had a broken wire tab and the actuator rod for the vacuum modulator was missing. Replaced those parts and installed shift kit. Like driving a brand new car.
