I have a '93, 2.3 and Chilton's tells me how to read the codes with a jumper wire.
But it does not tell me where the part (I forget what it's called) to hook up to is. I can get the part name if needed, my book is out in the car.
It does show in the picture that I also hook up to the battery, so I assume the part I am looking for is under the hood.
Anybody know?

should be on the drivers side between brake booster and fender its a single wire, white /purple stripe , ground it , check engine light will flash codes, bigG
