Default Different Firing order For a 1993 Mustang 2.3l LX

I was playing around a bit after some stirred up curiosity had gotten the best of me. I found that you can change up the arrangement or the spark plugs on the secondary coil and the car will run almost no differently. (I only let it idle for about 3 minuets did not rev it or drive it) I am unsure if the car, with the new arrangement, is firing on the exhaust stroke or if both plugs are firing at the same time. I will keep you guys who are interested posted but until then I made a crude drawing in windows paint or the firing order. (the original sheet I was doing all my "calculations" looks like alien script..... pictures help with the whole thing lol.)

well that because 2 plugs fire at once on each side so thats a total of 4 fire at once , 2 of the are what they call a waisted spark there are positive and negitive firing plugs that most people didnt know about that, big G

did you figure out if the same cylinder is fireing both plugs at the same time? willing to try it sounds different and i like different. i just made a TB spacer over the weekend and it works. its only 1/4 in thick but i feel a difference.

i gave this a whirl today. thought id try it see if it ran. switched around the plug wires and it wouldnt start. i had a backfire through the intake also. what for firing order do you use? the front cylinder is 1 and as they go back 2, 3, and 4? start from front of car or did you use something else?

Do you have a 93? because the 91 and 92 have a different set up to start with. than a 93 I will give you another firing order that should work for yours.

I still have not confirmed it does anything positive for you. But Like I said if yours is not a 93 I will have to figure out how to do it. I don't have my book for the firing order for 92 and 91 right now. I should be able to figure it out for you tomorrow.

are you guys changing the primary wires or the secondary's ? , i just picked up a 91 and i'm going to rewire the 2nd coil to fire with the primary coil, so each cylinder fires 2 plugs together.

i was chaning the ones that go to the exhaust side and there is no primary side really. one side is not always the main fire. both plugs on each cylinder switch back and forth from the main fire. that is what i thought the chilton book said and what an AA representative said. so dont quote me

the secondary coil is shot on my 91 and you'd never know it wasn't working, but i haven't totally disconnect it to see if it's totally dead, that's just what the check engine code keeps telling me. another question, is a coil pack on a 93 crown 4.6 the same coils? they look identical.

yes they are same coil packs. my A and A rep said they are same part number and same ratings. and which coil is the secondary one? the one that goes to the intake side or the one that goes to exhaust side?
