yea ride is real rough. i got on the highway and anything over 65 is complete vibrations all over so.

im assuming once i get new tires that will help out alittle bit. however i do feel my suspension needs help lol.
possibly a energy suspension kit.
is said kit easy to do myself. do they come with full instructions. (newb question)
and possibly springs and struts ugh.

hello second job.

sidenote: when i filled up today, for the automatic shut off hit it kinda squirted gas out everywhere but it just shot out to the right so i didnt get hit lol. Whats the deal with that!?

Not to mention old rubber bushings, and there was something else that caused these cars to pull left or right. I cant remember what it was but it had nothing to do with steering and suspension.

Some things:

If the car has been lowered and hasn't had a bump-steer kit installed, it will do just what you are talking about.

A energy suspension kit will make it ride even more harsh because the bushings are poly

I would keep an eye onthe gages. Does the temp say 150 when you first start the car? If the heater is blowing hot, then the temp is higher than 150. MgMan is correct, the thermostat is 192 degrees (stock).
Does the voltmeter go from one position to another when you start the car? How about oil pressure.....does it move?
If these things are evident, the power supply on the back of the gage panel is toast. You say the gas gage hasn't moved? hmmmmmm?

It has not been lowered.
The max my engine temp gauge gets up to is 150.
Yes it blows hot air.
Ill check on the voltmeter and oil pressure.
Gas gauge is fine.

One thing i wanted to ask you tho. Was gonan write a thread about it. But might as well do it here.

First off i have an automatic. this just started this week. I was on an on ramp on the gas hard to get on the highway. i looked down and saw my rpms at 5 grand looked and saw i was in 2nd. i dunno how fast i was goin but id say about 50. i shifted it to D then overdrive and set my cruise at 65. the rpms needle was goin back n forth between 1200rpms and the actual rpms of 2900rpms. after 75 miles of driving and shutting it off and driving it again for about 30 miles. it stopped and the tach worked again reading the correct rpm and its been fine since. that was friday. yestreday and today my check engine light comes on every once in awhile it may be for the whole time im driving(short trips) or for just a few minutes. its intermitent(sp) When its ON the rpm tach is very low it says my idle is 490 when its usually 875. no matter how hard i am on the gas it moves really slow up to about 2k rpms it feels underpowered. i know the engine is probably at 3k rpms based on the sound of how hard its working when i get on it but the tach will read like 1500rpms maybe. then when i let off the gas it drops back to 500 in overdrive while im crusing. now when i go out there and start it up to dive home from work itll probably run fine. and i can tell weather or not its on without lookin because itll be more peppy. no mods. only removed air silencer. but i dont think thats it.

ive also been consistantly getting 24mpg. so my gas mileage hasnt been affected.

and help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks. i love it.

check engine light has only come on for liek 5 minutes each day. so to further its symptoms(sp). today and yestreday it reved like it was in neutrel when i was in drive and when i was in overdrive...and thennnnn it kicked in like i dumped the clutch grabbed hard and went. i was like wtf. its an auto. it doesnt feel like its slipping because my grand ams trans is slipping and it feels like the clutchplates, flywheels, the little balls moving around in oil, and whatever mysterious things go on inside an automatic arent working together.

*kicks dirt*

sidenote: navysvo the voltmeter and oil pressure gauge stay at a consistant spot from start up to when im driving. so they are working just fine.

What I meant was......look at the gages, then start the car. Do they move? If so, cool.

My car was doing that no to long ago, but only when it was cold (The letting go like its in neutral then grabbing hard) I had blown my Vacuum modulator on my tranny and sucking a larg amount into my engine. I replaced it as well as took off the head and cleaned everything up, then I though I put enough tranny fluid back it, but I certainly did not. It stoped once I put about a court and 1/4 into it. Looking at it retrospectively there really was a lot of smake lol. But yes just check you tranny fluid level warm and idling after wou keep your foot on the brake and go through each gear and let ingage.(P, R, N, D, 2, 1, 2, D, N, R, P)

I also bought my first 1990 mustang 2.3l lx and i noticed it was a little sluggish when going uphills also. I was reading on this other post 9sorry i dont remember the man) but he said to change the fuel pump to a 5.0l mustang pump and you should get a bit more acceleration and pull when going up hills. As far as the low heat, i dont know like i say im also a new mustang owner lol.

Hey congrats on your stang, i got mine for around that price and if you're anything like me your car will be your life now. But If u wanna get a lil more power out of her get a Cold Air Intake and New exhaust and a more open exhaust manifold like the one on 2.3l rangers. If u need anymore advice on fixing it up let me now.

thanks. Ill get around to all that eventually pending funds. ima stick with the 93 manifold. but my exhaust has some kinda rattle at idle and might have a leak because of some make shift atch i found overmy muffle. the previous owner was a regular mister fix it. my front corner head light cover for the turn signal fell off it seems it was damaged then glued back on =( anywaysssss..but yea i love it. it took me so long to find and i looked at alot of lemons before i found a gem.

its in the shop right now getting a new coil pack or a new icm. i lost secondary spark in cyl 2 and 3. idle was rough and it was under powered. check engine light came on. so im driving my pontiac grand nothing...again...

thanks for everything.
