Manually shifting an A4LD goes as follows 1-2-1-3-4 IIRC

haha no its not a project. its just an old daily driver. it needs things. it not like i got it off the lot im the 4th owner and it only had 70k on it id say thats pretty good.

i dunno why youre telling me that jax. cool thanks i guess?

cars running good. gutted the entire intake from air silencer removal to the TB. K&N is in the mail. Im workin on a custom pipe from airbox to TB. we will see how mpg is affected i know this past week ive been hard on the gas so ill check out mpg on my trip to richmond this weekend.

Cause you said you manually shifted the car and it kinda fell off or something. If your one of those people who like to manually shift automatics, I was just telling you to get to 3rd you gotta go back to 1st for some reason.

someone was telling me to shift thru the gears to get everything oiled before driving since i was having trans issues

which i have now (dun dun dun dunnnn)fixed

my vacumm modulator(rrrrrrr) was bad. draining all my trans fluid into the engine/intake. 3 qrts in a month pumped into my engine/intake. and the problems i was having before came back. so i got that fixed from my dads good friends at haymarket motors in gainesville. theyll have your car for like a week but they get the job done cheap. they had mine for two days.

but once thats fixed i hope everything runs alittle smoother. and my trans will shift better and all kinds of good stuff.

guess the guy knew about it before he sold it. and i assume ill be finding out alot more little things here and there. that he "fixed"

oh well. i love my car. i got a k&n air filter for it and gutted the intake. but i might make one out of exhaust tubing soon to improve my intake of air alittle bit and let her breathe better. goin for mpg here. i know its slow.

Wow, I didn't even think this was a common problem on these 2.3 mustangs! I don't wanna jack your thread but if you look at my post "would you ever.." that mustang had the same problem now it doesnt shift

Apparently. So now it runs better, idles smoother and shifts are 100% better. I was wondering where all my trans fluid went when the bottom of my car is so clean. i was scratching my head...so theres no leak but the fluid is gone? it got pumped into the engine and intake blowing dark smoke out of the exhaust on occasion. i put alittle trans fluid in, let it run for a bit then checked the engine oil and if had red fluid all in it. So i knew thats what the problem was.

so if your pony is shiftin funny,it may be a good idea to check it out.

love my k&n.
cars running pretty great right now.
fixed blown icm and blown trans vac mod.
so now i suppose ill get some new brakes and shocks

my front right rotor is warped and scored. it has a huge line dug in all the way around. makes braking at any speed interesting. also shocks/struts are really worn. i bottomed out in a driveway and i wasnt even coming at it too fast.

man i need a new job. that $0.25 raise i just got isnt gonna do much for my brake/suspension issues. thanks lame company
