Default My first mustang! =D

So today I went over to arlington to look at a mustang. Talked to the guy who was super cool and a mechanic himself. He had all the paper work and the original bill of sale. So i test drove it checked it over flipped it upside down and inside out. Looks great. Just needs a bath and new tires.

So for $1750 in cash I am the proud owner of a 1993 ford mustang lx 140ci dp2.3 automatic. White with blue interior. 10 hole alloy rims. And thats about it haha. Its got power nothing. but hey it came with a full tank of gas

Right off the bat I noticed a few things. It needs a bath and a good detail but you know I got that covered.

When I was going up a hill it sounded like it was full of water and all the water was slooshing to the back of the car. any thoughts?

And the temperature gauge is right at 150 degrees the whole time. So my dad said well thats good. and im thinking its either running cold or just doesnt work. Any thoughts?

Im sure ill find things here and there as I get used to driving it. I dont think its thatttt slow considering my v6s trans has been slipping ive grown used to creeping around.

So yea im super happy I stumbled upon that. Ill post the only pic i have right meow more to come

Aint she a beaut!

Very nice! My temp gauge never goes up either, so I just assume it came without that option. lol

Default Nice!

Just joined myself! My 89 LX with a 2.3 just took a turn for the worst and cracked the block. I over worked it added anything I could except for the turbo for a few more ponies. Now Im looking to up the number and drop something else in it. Congrats on the new car..Looks Nice.

Awesome. Definitely add pictures inside and out. 150 degrees a little to cold. I think from memory stat is 192. If was you. I would change it. Who knows last time Antifreeze was changed. Also check hoses and belts. A good idea. If change the belts and hoses. Put old ones in trunk in plastic bag. May bail you out. Out in middle of no where when everyone is closed. Cheaper than a wrecker.

haha thanks mg man. the previous owner was a real cool guy and a heavy duty mechanic for cadillac. so he changed all fluids before selling it and it has a new radiator but im gonna check again.

things i need right now or in the not so distant future:
new tires
struts maybe?
get that temp gauge issue fixed
vacuum interior and clean my windows lol

my right rear tail light is cracked but its still in one piece and working so im just gonna leave it alone for now.

real rough ride lots of vibrations and when i hit a pot hole i feel like the cars gonna fly apart.
now i know its an older car and gonna have bumps and rattles but damn. and it pulls to the right alittle.

once i get the interior cleaned out thennn ill take pics of the inside cuz right now between my junk and the previous owners junk well thats alot of junk.

things i like:
the drive gear vs overdrive
ac and heat will freeze you solid then burn you to a crisp
seats are super comfortable
my cruise control
havent been to the gas station yet lol still got half a tank
the turn signal blinker sound is pretty comical(although i think mines kinda slow)
and i love it cuz its a stangggggg

Ride should be pretty good. I would check into it. Check shocks and rearend and mount bushings etc. While under there check make sure no rust where rearend mounts. Temp sensor is under the oil pressure sensor on the block if that helps identify which one. On some of these cars I think Ford bought them in quanity. Mine has 3 that sense water temp.
