1989 Mustang LX owner...2.3 Looking to up the pony!

89 LX with a cracked block, too hot in Texas. Looking to up the Pony with an 85 3.8l v6 from a capri. Any thoughts...any problems...any suggestions. Not looking at the 8 due to the fact my girl getting it.

Look up the HP of a 3.8 Capri of that year. Probably not that great. Second coming from a 85. I assume carb car. If so you have to change away from efi to carb gas tank. Or put a proper external pump. Will it bolt to your bellhousing. Don't look like it will List of Ford bellhousing patterns - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
But you are probably install entire driveline. Here is differant idea. A 3.8 drive line from a 95 or later mustang. Wiring etc would be interesting. Almost done this on my 93 instead went with a SHO motor the 3.8 would have been alot easier.

drop another 4cyl in it. why would you bother with the 3.8. save work, save time, save money. cuz your girls getting it anyways right. work on keeping it cool this time.
