Default 1989 Mustang 2.3L LX passenger door wont unlock

Use handle, door lock, key, anything, the lock mechanism will not move. When I hit the power lock button to lock you can hear it lock, but on unlock it seems to make no sound. I cannot turn the key in the door or open it manually with the inside handle. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I had the same problem a while back. I pulled out he lock solenoid. No more power lock, but works manually.

Its a pain to remove, but if you do a clean uninstall, you should be able to install a new replacement to keep the power locks working...

i used to be able to turn the key just enough and pull the handle and have the rod bend enough to get the door to open, but it would still be locked, i then ground off the rivit at the bottom of the door that holds the door lock motor, and punch it in, then manual operation was fine, later replaced with aftermarket lock motors, works great never freezes in the winter anymore.
