Default Just bought 1990 Mustang LX

I just bought a 1990 stang LX, she is a 2.3, seems abused pretty bad, already had to drop new auto tranny, replace tie rods, and the normal stuff you wanna replace usually, but was wondering, if I am going to put money in this stang if I should just convert her to 5.0 or leave her 2.3 when I drop a new engine?

Also any suggestions of what all I should do to her as she is all stock right now

Now thats all up to yourself..................If it was me i would leave it in its stock form with the 2.3 in it..............only because I have a 91 GT. I am looking for a 2.3 for myself just to have one.So it comes down to what you want. I say leave it in its 2.3 state,it wont be fast but boy will you save at the pump!

theres nothing wrong with dropping money into a 2.3 daily driver. im gonna drop in alot of cash into it. already have ugh. but keep everything original with little mods until it craps out at 150k-230k miles. 5 years from now lol. even then ill just drop in another 2.3

Then yes a turbo such as an svo or handbuilt project fun. supercharged 4banger would be cool 72grabber and crew built one. havent heard back from him.

Good question. I was originally planning on converting my 2.3 that I bought in January to a 5.0. However, once I got to reading, if you really get into it, these little 2.3s will give you over 500 hp. I actually read about the over 500 horsepower in either my 5.0 mustang and super fords or muscle mustangs and fast fords magazine. Either way it's an amazing engine, that is pretty dependable from what I have heard. Mine isn't going to stay stock, but I am leaving the 2.3!

Just have some fun with it.
