Exclamation 1991 Mustang 2.3L Battery Problem. Need help!

I just replaced my alternator because while driving on the interstate the other day I hit a pothole and the speakers skipped out then came back, and repeated this all the while the dash lights started to dim and my battery gauge started to drop, while I was driving with the lights dimmed and the stereo off it was fine, I got home and parked. An hour later I try to start it and the batt is dead. I took it to AutoZone they tested the battery said it was fine then charged it and the same thing happened. I took my car after getting it jumped to Advanced Auto and they tested the alternator which they said was bad. I got a new one, installed it and have been trying to charge my battery but it will not go above 10 volts......I'm wondering what I can do besides have to get a new battery, the battery is on the charger right now and the gauge on the charger is saying its dead

Do you have any lights on, I fond that the light under the hood was the problem for me. As well as the radios 12v constant.

well.. first see what the warranty is on your brand of battery(if you replace it )if the charge doesn't hold check the wiring on your radio and speakers make sure nothing is touching , .... good luck

Trunk mount and use an optima YELLOW. I use them in all mm builds and moving them to the trunk keeps them a lot cooler than under the hood. Just remember if possible put it on the pass side. TOM

That way you offset the weight of the driver on the left side. Its an old wives tail about equal weight on the rear wheels. But it seems to work. And its cool when you jump a buddys car. Also great for your trunk mount amps you dont have to run a heavy wire to the front for power. Its cool. Just remember do not use a regular battery. Only an OPTIMA.
