Default 1991 Ford Mustang swap from 2.3l to 5.0l or 4.6l

I own a 1991 ford Mustang LX with a 2.3l four cylinder. I want to drop a V8 between the finders. I have looked into both options, and i am still unsure what would be the best option. I've seen where i could order a 4.6l cast iron block for around $300 to $400, and the 302 is considerably more. I am already away of the the need of sub frame connectors, reweld the factory tac welds, brake upgrades, rearend, suspenstion upgrade, and a beefed for k member. I am seeking more infromation on the subject, and i am open to all sujestions. Think you for all coments and sujections.

I hope someone with a lot more knowledge then I currently have replies to this. I just picked up a 1991 LX with the 2.3 and I was curious about a swap as well. I was also wondering just how much horsepower we could pull out of a 2.3. Lots of 5.0's out there but not too many 300hp 2.3L running around.

you can get a lot of horse power out of the 2.3's. just if you have the time and the money. ive seen them up to almost 600 horse power, with turbo, methanol injection and some crazy setups. but i also know you can get a lot of horse power on a N/A motor too. my shop teacher used to race the 2.3's in a pinto and they did head work cam bored over and a few other things and he said that they broke 320 HP.

first. spell check.

second. dont get all excited over a hopped up 2.3 unless you are gonna go the turbo route. which is the easiest and cheapest or dump in a lottttt of time and money. 2.3 to 5.0 swaps have been covered extensively theres a swap thread just for this subject. 4.6 has been done with just as much documentation.

What do you mean by reweld the tac welds??? What tac welds are important enough that fully welding them would bring about a change in drivability? Unless, that is, your going to put a lot of horsepower into it?
